New links added.

First, Phi Beta Cons, a conservative commentary on higher education, which is part of the National Review.

The name, I guess, is play at Phi Beta Kappa (PBK), the highest academic honorary society a student can gain admittance to while at university when it comes to the humanities & social sciences. Each university has its standards, but almost all that are nominated have a near 4.0 GPA and is considered a stalwart in their respective department(s). Out of all the honor societies that are in existence at the university level PBK is considered the "most legit."

The material given to the new members include a 24-carot gold key (seriously) and free subscription for the society's magazine, The American Scholar.

If you're only majoring in business or engineering you're automatically disqualified; it's strictly an LAS honor.

Here's an amusing article about the academic honor society.

The second and last is adam4d. Adam4d is a very clever and humorous site - and sorely needed when it comes to effectively explaining the faith. It's a collection of web-comics (similar to The Oatmeal ... The site that published this) explaining orthodox Christianity in a palatable way to those not familiar with the Bible. The web-comics are respectful in that it doesn't demean those that "know not what they do" - this includes Christians who interpret the Bible liberally. It does it without stretching passages and verses to conform to modernity. In other words, it's an "originalist" reading of scripture. It's surprisingly, at times, sweet and it always giving me laughs.

It even comments on church fashion.

Men, whatever color your belt is - say for instance black - your shoes should match. Black belt, black shoes. If you're wearing a brown belt then your shoes should be brown. It's a basic men's sartorial rule.
